Old school pic, same style.  Ever wonder why the clean and jerk hasn’t really evolved?  Because it’s the most efficient way to get that weight over your head.

WOD

12 min cap

-Find you max weight from shoulder to overhead-

use any method you like, starts at your shoulder, ends up locked out overhead

Comments:  Do you think 3 days of the CrossFit games could be considered an endurance event?

    Good question Speal.

Yes I think it could be given the level of competition and the fact that it is a multi day event. It’s more like an Incredible Hulk version of a decathlon, bigger, badder, and meaner!

Joe from the uk here hope you dont mind me throwing in my ideas on this one big fan of spealler as we are the same bodyweight and height, just i dont have the fitness. looking at a few definition of endurance and found “a state or quality of lasting” or one i like “the power to withstand hardship or stress”. Going with this i would say for sure the games would be classes as endurance not only because its over three days which im sure is both a physical and mental/ emotional susatained stress an hardship. I would say even regionals would be as to the best of my knowlege they all contained multiple events of hardship dispite there individual duration as a single workout the accumalation of the day must make it endurance. ps great job at the game guy stayed up all night watching live feed..

    Joe,
Great input and thanks so much for sharing. As far as that definition goes I’m with you 100%. Enduring hardship, check, stress, check :) Thanks for the support and hope you enjoyed the games. Good luck with the training and keep up the hard work!

Most definitely! Growing up my dream was to become a “Decathlete” the hardest of all track and field events. It is made up of 10 events 5 on each day. Included running, jumping and throwing and ended on the last day with a mile run. Those that won the Olympic Decathalon were consdiered the best athletes in the world!
After experiencing the “Crossfit Games” I would have to say it was a “Decathalon” plus more. The ultimate test of endorance, strength, agility, load along with pain and suffering!!! Just what ex wrestlers like Chris and Eric are looking for!! You guys are the BEST! I don’t know how you do it!! Thanks for all you do for us!
